Title
MSc Research Fellowship to work on Vector borne diseases management to enhance livestock resilience to climate change impact at the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology, Kenya
Closing date: 14 Mar 2025
Background
Vector-borne animal diseases, including animal trypanosomiasis, surra, and anaplasmosis, compromise camel and other livestock resilience to climate change shock through morbidity, mortality, and abortion, significantly impacting the livelihoods of pastoralists with severe long-term consequences, such as food and nutrition instability and poverty. This research aims to develop a novel way to designing a control tool aimed at manipulating the behavior of many vectors to avoid camel vectors interaction to block disease transmission by understanding conserved detection and perception of signals.
